Uhm, so. I don't really know what to do with this account. I love supernatural and house and crossshipping! I like, don't really know what to do on here but I like journaling websites and I've heard very good things about dreamwidth. I also like writing fanfiction, my ao3 is wirefins but I'll probably crosspost things maybe? I don't know how to make friends or uhm do much of anything on this website yet but it seems fun! I like websites where you "create your own algorithm" because fyps are evil and only show me things i don't want to see like fandoms im not in and r18 stuff. tumblr is awesome but no matter how many people i block tadc and hannibal (the show i love the books) always end up in my face. and i dont have any friends there.

Welcome!

[community profile] newcomers has lots of resources about how to use Dreamwidth and where to find things you'll enjoy here. If you're coming from Tumblr, [personal profile] soc_puppet has posted tutorials for that angle. Find your Tumblr friends here.

The Follow Friday Master Post has lists of active communities by topic where you can look for some based on your interests, including some of the Most Useful Communities. Many bloggers use recurring posts to pin down their key interests and maintain activity, which is also a good source of inspiration if you aren't sure what you want to post yet.

This month's big event is [community profile] marchmetamatterschallenge for archiving or writing new meta such as reviews, canon overviews, or fanifestos.

>>I love supernatural and house and crossshipping! <<

Find fandom at [community profile] fandomcalendar. You might also like [community profile] tvfanfiction. For crossovers see [community profile] superville, [community profile] galorechallenge, and [community profile] crossovers50.

>>I like, don't really know what to do on here but I like journaling websites and I've heard very good things about dreamwidth.<<

People use DW for all kinds of things. It can be a diary, a hangout spot, a small press, a photo gallery, and so on. Browse around different communities and blogs for inspiration.

>> I also like writing fanfiction, my ao3 is wirefins but I'll probably crosspost things maybe? <<

Fanfic is very popular here with many events and communities. By all means crosspost your work; it protects against losing everything if one host goes down. See Full Content on Dreamwidth at [community profile] goals_on_dw.

>> I don't know how to make friends or uhm do much of anything on this website yet but it seems fun! <<

The Add Me communities are good for finding friends, as is [community profile] friending_memes. Watch for friending memes. Use the introduction framework in communities that have one, which is similar to a friending meme.

>>I like websites where you "create your own algorithm" because fyps are evil and only show me things i don't want to see like fandoms im not in and r18 stuff.<<

Your Reading Page should only display posts by blogs and communities you subscribe to.

I'm happy I could help. :D I want people to find things they like here, in hopes they'll stick around.

I think I forgot to mention: find fandom on [community profile] fandomcalendar.
